Mark Zuckerberg’s manifesto

Newsletter #127
February 24, 2016

We all know that as a marketer, you can reach just about anyone with Facebook.

Facebook marketing is very popular among internet marketers because you can laser target your ads based on the wealth of data that Facebook has about its users – age, location, interests, career and the list goes on.

What does the CEO and founder of Facebook have to say about the most pressing issues in internet marketing right now – fake news, filter bubbles, as well as Facebook’s future product and business goals?

Mark Zuckerberg actually published a 6,000 word manifesto about this a few days ago.

Facebook

In the manifesto, Mark Zuckerberg essentially talks about his political and social goals and how Facebook as a product is going to work towards them.

If you don’t want to read the whole thing, Greg Sterling of Marketing Land wrote a summary and review here.

As anyone who uses Facebook for business – as a way to reach your existing customers or to find new ones – the key to making Facebook marketing work is to swim with the current.

What you’re publish onto Facebook should align with what Facebook wants to publish and what Facebook users want to receive. Facebook has certain purposes it wants to stick to, and people don’t go to Facebook to look at ads.

New Leadpages Feature: Split Testing

Leadpages is a landing page builder that provides responsive templates that are proven to convert. It quickly became the market leader and is a trusted part of the marketing stack.

Daphne Sidor of the Leadpages team just published an announcement regarding a new feature. You can now split test elements on your landing page – different sales videos, different headlines etc. Then, Leadpages will collect the results and report them to you.

Here’s the announcement, and there are even some useful tips on how to conduct your split test.

Funnel Hacking Live 2018

ClickFunnels is a hosted piece of software that claims to provide everything you need to market, sell and deliver your products online.

Every year, the ClickFunnels team hosts a live event called Funnel Hacking. It’ll be for ClickFunnels users and help them discover ways to get the most out of the software.

This year’s event is sold out, but next year’s event is one year away. It’ll be held March 22–24, 2018 in Dallas, TX and early bird tickets are already selling for $697.

Quotation of the Day

“The best split tests don’t merely tell you which of two pages converts better. They give you insights that you can apply to every landing page or campaign you create in the future.”

– Daphne Sidor
